Science Is Everywhere

How does science help develop a country? What drives scientific discoveries and innovation? How do ideas born in laboratories turn into solutions for agriculture, energy, the environment, technology, and medicine? What path do research projects take before becoming startups, innovations, and infrastructural projects?

Visitors to the first thematic part of the Science Festival will learn how science becomes a driving force of progress. They will see how scientific thought impacts the economy, sustainable development, and the improvement of quality of life.

The first section of the festival will bring together Armenia’s leading scientific institutes, universities, research centers, and laboratories. Scientists, engineers, professors, and students will present their projects, demonstrate fascinating experiments, and share practical examples of scientific achievements put to use.

Visitors will be able to interact with scientists, universities, tech companies, and representatives of science-based startups. The key message of the exhibitions and open discussions will be that science in Armenia not only exists but also actively works for the country’s future.

The answers to these and many other questions will be found in the first thematic section of the Science Festival. On October 1-2, festival visitors will see that science is everywhere and that scientific thought and outcomes are closely connected to our daily lives.

Through experiments, interactions with scientists, exhibitions, and discussions, visitors will learn which disciplines address which issues, how scientific thought has developed, what science is being done in Armenia, and how the world and science interact with each other.

By familiarising themselves with the latest scientific and technological achievements, engaging with scientists and engineers, and participating in experiments, visitors will see how scientists and engineers are improving the world around us and our lives.

Why Become a Scientist or Engineer?

Maybe you’ll be the one to create new smart materials, develop innovative medicines, build “smart” cities, or discover a new source of affordable energy. Science is not some abstract, distant concept. Science is your chance to change the world and to build Armenia’s future with your own hands.

On October 2–3, the Science Festival will turn into a professional orientation platform. Universities, research institutes, laboratories, and innovators will meet with children and young people, sharing which professions are in demand today, what knowledge the country’s development requires, and where to gain those skills. You’ll be able to get answers to many intriguing questions:

  • - What does a bioengineer do?
  • - How can a physicist become a startup founder?
  • - Why is science important even for entrepreneurs and designers?
  • - Which professions will be in demand in 10 years?

You’ll have the chance to meet young scientists and students, try your hand at experiments, learn how to get into top universities, and discover which fields open real opportunities.

If you want your future work to matter, start by understanding how the world works. Then choose a profession that helps make that world better.

- Why become a physicist or chemist?

- What makes neurophysiology interesting?

- What fascinating phenomena do astronomers deal with?

- How can a mathematician gain skills in artificial intelligence?

- Why is a research foundation important for becoming a good specialist?

Which university or institute should one study at?

The Career Orientation thematic section of the Science Festival will become a platform where children and young people will receive answers to these and other questions.

Expanding the Imagination

Imagine

Before setting foot on the Moon, humans had already been there—in books. Before robots, lasers, space stations, and metaverses became reality, they lived in novels, comics, films, and dreams.

On October 4–5, the Science Festival will transform into a space station of imagination. At Freedom Square, you’ll enter the vivid, inspiring world of science fiction.

The last two days of the festival will unite literature, cinema, comics, games, art, and futurism. We will explore how science fiction writers predicted technologies, how ideas born in books and films became reality, and why science fiction continues to inspire generations of engineers, scientists, inventors, and dreamers.

What awaits you:

  • - Discussions about the future with real scientists
  • - Cosplay of beloved characters
  • - Installations, VR zones, panel discussions, workshops
  • - Competitions, exhibitions, games, unexpected discoveries

Here, you don’t have to choose between science and imagination—they walk hand in hand. Because every great thing begins with a dream.

Science fiction is one of the sources that inspire scientists and engineers on the path to turning the imaginary into reality. Many scientific and technological achievements have also been realised thanks to the inspiration drawn from these dreams.

On October 5-6, the Science Festival will be dedicated to science fiction, from literature to cinema, comics to art.

Freedom Square will become a fantastic planet where you will see your favourite heroes, hear amazing stories, and participate in various competitions.

Alongside the three thematic sections of the Science Festival, our central pavilion will host masterclasses, discussions, lectures, and seminars throughout all six days.
